busy

Tuesday, March 30th, 2004

Looks like the forum is getting a little busier. Good stuff, just hope it continues.
I added some new aviators there for everyone to choose from, along with that I may add some new themes soon. If anyone has anyother ideas drop me a line.

Dawn

Saturday, March 27th, 2004

Went to see the remake of the old George A. Romero film “Dawn of the Dead” it was actually pretty good, although not as good as the original. One thing in it though Zombies ran? Never seen that in any horror film before. IMDB link

Anyhoo today is the last day of the six nations championship, Ireland V Scotland is our last game, and last chance to win a game we have been playing crap this season.
Unfortunately it looks like the cockiness that has been a feature of English football has reached there Rugby. I just caught something on the TV some dumb bimbo was interviewing English fans; they think they have won it before there last game tonight. Also the last thing she said was will we give a thought to the Scots, no why laughing they all responded. Heck don’t bring us in to it, we aren’t playing you. That is one of the main reasons Scots do not support England. (come on France)

Da Bruce

Thursday, March 25th, 2004

On this day in 1306, Robert the Bruce, Earl of Annandale, was crowned King of Scots at Scone. Bruce was crowned in the presence of four bishops, five earls and the people of the land by the Countess of Buchan.

I have been playing about with Virtual pc today, gave RedHat Linux 8 and freeBSD 4.3 a install, Virtual PC works very well, I may try other systems soon. Tonight Barcelona play Celtic, cant see Celtic win this game to be honest I done care.

Rugby

Monday, March 22nd, 2004

Did anybody watch the Rugby on Sunday? No? Wish I did not watch it. Absolutely dismal, pathetic performance. Ach Wooden spoons this year, unless…. nahh not gonna happen.
less said about that the better.

Also got the football to look forward to later this month, more Disappointment?
quite cynical about Scottish Sport at the moment. lol Can only get better (I hope)

France

Thursday, March 18th, 2004

France Beat England to take the six nations, along with the grand slam.
France 24 England 21, who said England, was not a one man team. Heck England finished third; yeah I know Scotland finished last… But just incase you missed it France 24 England 21. Anyway we knew we would not do that well this year, unlike England who presumed they won it before it started.

This Day

Thursday, March 18th, 2004

On 18 March 1286, Alexander III, King of Scots, set off on the journey that led to him being killed accidentally at Kinghorn, Fife. The last of the MacAlpine dynasty and the Celtic line of Scottish Kings, his reign was known as “The Golden Age”. His successor, Margaret, known as the ‘Maid of Norway’, died on her way home from Norway to claim the throne. Mary’s premature death precipitated the disastrous involvement of Edward I of England in Scotland’s affairs. from bbc

This is the events that lead the Scottish Wars of Independence, although England never technically conquered Scotland.

Crash

Wednesday, March 17th, 2004

There was a nasty thud outside this house last night; two cars crashed must have been pretty bad as I never noticed until the flashing lights of the police and ambulance were outside. One of the cars is still there; pretty mangled I hope nobody was to seriously hurt.

I took some photos this morning on the way to work. These are of Princes St Gardens, Castle and the Scots monument. Will post some later.

Tickets

Saturday, March 13th, 2004

On 13 March 1873, the Scottish Football Association was formed. The impetus for forming the organisation came from a meeting after the first international match against England.
This was when we could play football.
Anyway my tickets for the Scotland V Romania game came through yesterday. ummmm just hope its not another one of them games
