Full Of Cludgie Goodness

End of October, so that means its Halloween. But it got me thinking, As some of you may know (or may not) my job is tech support. Anyway some of the calls we get are Scary Real Scary so maybe a hall of shame for this? no names provided of course, that would give to much away and I wanna stay anonymous .. . . . ..For now anyway

So … Been a while since the last update, ach well never mind not been much to tell you about. I am running out of ideas, really I don’t know what to talk aboot. But I have now added a photo log, see Cludgie stuff menu at the side. What I will do is take my digi camera out and about with me and snap away, Just now most of the photos are 800×600 I may up the resolution soon. Also I have new photos of Edinburgh, but they are not up as yet, they will be soon. :). remember in the photos section there are photos of Edinburgh, Stirling, Canada, USA more will be added soon.

I got myself a couple of tickets for the Scotland Canada game that was yesterday at Easter Road in Edinburgh. Scotland won 3 -1 in you were wondering Hey we are getting better again, (well done for both sides, good game) so maybe we can play after all. I was thinking about taken my camera but the ticket warns no photography, so I thought better not to take it. (But other people did, since you could see the flashes going off)

There is the ticket from the game (since there is no photos), gonna keep it as a wee momentum since it was my first International game, hey my first game ever !!.

just bought myself a Digital camera, a Sony cyber-shot DSC-P51. I have not used it that much yet, but it looks pretty good 2.0 megapixels optical digital zoom and max resolution of 1600×1200. Finally, we win a game we had to wait a long time. Scotland 2 Iceland 0
V on Tuesday we go to play at Easter Road in Edinburgh. Hopefully we can notch up another win. See we are not as bad as everyone thinks.

A Funny tale to tell you. This is true.
Not that long ago, my DVD-Rom drive died on me, kinda pissed me off, Its not that old you see. However after investigation, it is still under warranty. Even better its an on-site warranty, Brawwww. So the tech is gonna call me back to arrange a time to come out. Alas He did not, but when I call the shop agan they say he did call me. Coincidentally this was the same day all the phones in the area were down. Anyway, He finally comes round(a week and 1/2 late); he has to fit the drive himself, I think hey he is a pro he can do it nae problem(I will get the coffee in). But NO he cant, It is now worse than before, its not recognized in windows nor the BIOS. not just reading disks as was the fault
ME “is the IDE cable secure”
HIM“Yes”
ME “what about the jumpers, are the set ok?”
HIM “uhhhh, what’s a jumper”
But he was just wanting to leave it, the new drive must be knackerd too.
Long story short, I had take it out, show him how to set a jumper, install the drive myself. Pretty silly really but it got me thinking, what if he went to someone computer who did know know about these things? they would have to wait longer to get a working system. But he was a nice person.
